There are several ways you can continue to benefit from DAAD as an alumnus or alumna. DAAD offers several services to its alumni: you can obtain an exclusive DAAD email address, join alumni networking groups, receive a subscription to our online alumni magazine “Letter” and information about the global DAAD alumni network. In addition, DAAD encourages you to take advantage of DAAD scholarships and grants offered to its alumni.

Re-invitation Grant:

DAAD offers this grant for one to three months in all academic disciplines to scholars at US and Canadian institutions of higher education to pursue research at universities, libraries, archives, institutes or laboratories in Germany. The aim of this particular program is to enable former scholarship holders to carry out research projects in Germany and to maintain contacts as part of DAAD’s global alumni network. For details on the program click here.

Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) Professional:

RISE Professional offers summer internships with German companies for graduate students enrolled in Canada or the US. Those who are alumni of the RISE Germany program are welcome to apply.

These services are offered by DAAD headquarters in Bonn, Germany, and include the following:

  • DAAD Email accounts for alumni
  • “DAAD Letter”: the Alumni Magazine
  • Newsletter

Find German Events Across Canada

From information on opportunities for academic study, research stays or learning the German language, to events on all aspects of Germany’s cultural, economic and political life, the website aims to show that Germany truly offers something for everyone.
