The DAAD Alumni Association Canada was founded in 1999 with the intention of creating a strong community for DAAD alumni in Canada and strengthening the relationship between Canada and Germany.

Our Mission

The mission of the DAAD Alumni Association Canada is to:

  • strengthen ties between DAAD alumni, both in Canada and abroad;
  • promote funding opportunities in Germany and encourage Canadian students and faculty to study and/or conduct research in Germany;
  • foster personal and academic contact with Germans and German institutions;
  • promote German culture and language at Canadian schools, colleges and universities.

Our Approach

To fulfill this mission, the DAAD Alumni Association Canada works together with the DAAD Information Centre Toronto and the DAAD New York office, as well as with German-related institutions organizing educational or scientific workshops and conferences, member meetings and trips to Germany, and keeping DAAD alumni informed of new developments.
