The DAAD Network
What is DAAD and what does it do?
DAAD, or the German Academic Exchange Service (in German = Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) was founded in Germany in 1925. Today, it is the largest funding organization in the world supporting the international exchange of students and scholars. Currently, 229 universities and 125 higher education organizations are members of the DAAD network. In general, DAAD exchange and scholarship programs are open to students of all academic fields and countries, including Canada. In addition to individual scholarships, grants are available to support institutional cooperation, and beyond this, DAAD supports universities through the provision of information, guidance, and marketing services. On our German website, you can find all relevant information for an academic stay in Germany: www.daad.de
